Collection: Steel PIN

Yes. Every buckle and clasp in this collection is a genuine OEM (original equipment manufacturer) piece — made by or directly for Panerai, Patek Phillipe, Breitling, or Audemars Piguet. These are the same hardware components used in brand boutiques, sold here at significantly reduced prices — typically 35% or more off boutique retail.

The buckle size listed in the product title (e.g., 20MM, 22MM, 24MM) refers to the buckle's inner width — the measurement of the strap end that threads through it. This must match the tail end width of your strap, not the lug width. For example, a Panerai strap listed as "24/22MM" uses a 22MM buckle. Always check both dimensions on your strap before ordering.

A Thumbnail tang buckle features a wider, rounded thumb-press lever that makes it easier to open the buckle with a single finger — a signature design detail on Panerai hardware. A standard tang buckle uses a straight pin that passes through a strap hole. Both function the same way but differ in ergonomics and visual style. Panerai's Thumbnail buckles are iconic to the brand and pair specifically with Panerai straps.

A polished finish is mirror-bright and reflective — it has a high-gloss, dressy look. A brushed finish has a matte, satin texture with fine directional lines — it looks more understated and modern, and it hides minor scratches better over time. Both finishes are available for Panerai buckles in this collection. Choose the finish that best matches the case and lugs of your watch.

PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition — a process that bonds a thin layer of black coating onto the stainless steel surface. It creates a uniform, deep black color that is harder and more scratch-resistant than paint or plating. The Breitling OEM Black PVD Tang Pin Buckle is designed for watches with a black case or dark colorway where a silver buckle would look mismatched.

No. The 20MM Panerai Thumbnail Tang Buckle is designed specifically for 22mm/20mm straps, which are used on 40MM and 42MM Panerai case watches. It will not work with 44MM, 46MM, or 47MM Panerai cases — those larger cases require a 22MM buckle (for 24/22mm straps) or 24MM buckle (for 26/22mm straps). Check your case size before ordering.

No — they are two different types of hardware. A tang pin (or tang buckle) is a simple pin-and-hole mechanism, similar to a belt buckle, where the pin passes through a hole in the strap. A deployment (deployant) clasp is a multi-piece folding mechanism that snaps open and closed without threading through the strap. Both are available in this collection — tang buckles are more affordable and traditional; deployant clasps offer a more secure fit and less strap wear.

The Breitling Polished Stainless Steel Deployant Clasp (20MM) is compatible with Navitimer and Bentley models — and any Breitling watch with a 20MM strap width. It will not fit watches with 22MM or 24MM strap tails. If your Breitling uses a different strap width, check the other deployant clasp listings in the collection for the correct size.

No. The AP 24MM Tang Buckle works specifically with straps that are 28x24MM (28MM lug width, 24MM tail AND 30x24MM). It will not work with AP straps that are 28x20MM — those require the 20MM AP Tang Buckle, which is listed separately. Always confirm both the lug width and tail width of your strap before selecting an AP buckle.

The buckles in this collection are sold as standalone hardware pieces and do not include spring bars or installation tools. Spring bars are the small metal pins that attach the strap to the watch case — these are typically sold separately or may already be present on your existing strap. Most watchmakers and local jewelry stores can assist with installation, or the buckle can be swapped at home with a basic spring bar tool. Exception is Breitling Claps which all come with 2 Spring Bars.
